Presbytery of Port Phillip East
Report of presbytery In Council, 13 Jul 2013.
In the Cornish College Gymnasium, fortunately well heated!
0. Devotions outside - connect us with the earth, with our surroundings
1. Reports - no big issues
2. Two very interesting candidates:
- Paulo Kwajakwan - for selection
- Claire Dawes - for ordination
4. both candidates approved.
3. Somers report - exciting camp for youngsters.
5. BOMAR application
- only one, for joint Cornish College and Presbytery to develop mission avenues for the college (through appointing a Director of Mission). Proposed by Robert Johnson and Jay Robinson. Some exciting discussion, and useful feedback to the proposing committee. Some reservations expressed about embarking upon such a project at the current time, given the Acacia College scenario. Thought was that the project would call upon funds with a very specific purpose, and not affect the general "special circumstances" situation.
6. Special Circumstances - updates. Difficulties about to begin. Firstly looking for voluntary offers of property - responses from congregations by 4 Aug!! Added to Council agenda.
