GWUC COMMUNITY HUB MISSION GROUP UPDATE July 2021
All our groups are currently in a “wait and see" holding pattern, due to frequent covid restrictions. Nevertheless we are remaining optimistic.
THE HUB
Judith Greenwood reported :
- Sessions have been held on Tuesday mornings.
- 1-5 people have attended, including 1 passer by.
- The Cancer Council fund raising function hopefully will be held on a Sunday morning, as soon as possible.
- Hopefully Thursday morning sessions can be started soon.
- All volunteers are thanked for their commitment .
LEISURE TIME
Laurel Muir reported that:
- Numbers of guests and volunteer helpers are down.
- The planned outing had to be cancelled.
- The kitchen is closed, but cold lunches have been supplied by Muddings.
- We need to wait and see what the future holds.
PLAYGROUP
Chris Krahn reported that:
- Sessions have been held on Monday and Tuesday mornings.
- We have 3, sometimes 4, regular and very enthusiastic new children.
- The mothers get on really happily together and enjoy coming.
- Currently we have two leaders for each session, although one is moving from GW later this year.
- Barbi Kenny from Monash Council visited and was very impressed with our facilities and general set up. She will recommend us to her clients where appropriate.
- A big thank you to Warren and the volunteers who spread the new soft fall pine bark in the playground.
Hopefully there Will be fewer disruptions in the future.
