Philosophy of the Traditional Worship Service
The 11am Sunday worship service is a traditional service. This means that there is a regular liturgical structure of
- Call to Worship
- Prayer of Adoration and Confession
- Hymms
- Bible Reading (usually two: old and new testament, or epistle and gospel)
anthem by the choir (2/3 sundays of the month, see ChoirPage)
- Sermon
- Offering
- Prayers of the People (Intercessory Prayer)
- Blessing
Both the Bible reading and the Prayers of the People are presented by (rostered) volunteers. See RosterBibleReading and RosterEldersCurrent
Holy Communion is held on the third sunday of the month. It is usually conducted by participants coming forward to the sanctuary to receive the elements.
The language that is used, while not archaic, is couched in terms of forgiveness for the sins that we commit, the redemptive love of Christ, and the blessing of God's grace on our thoughts and actions.
