Checklist for Special Services
This page details some notes for people involved with organizing special services, such as inductions.
Is supper required? If so, arrange for people to organize (possible names: FayeWagon, ...)
- Is an offering required? If so, arrange for stewards to be present.
Are volunteers from the congregation required? If so, people with access to the church database (ChurchDatabaseUsersGroup) can assist with the suggestion of names.
- Who is the convenor for the service? Appoint someone to take overall carriage of matters.
As induction is a joint Presbytery/Congregational event the Chair and Secretary of the Congregation should be contacted by the Presbytery to organise Congregational participation - this covers supper, offering, volunteers.
- Congregation? or Council? We have both, with different chairs and secretaries.
JohnHurst: It is all very well saying "should", but I want a more definite line of responsibility than that. I found myself organizing the GW end of the induction service without anyone asking me to. Seems like a funny way to run a railway to me.
