Playgroup group leader
Role:
To facilitate activities that encourages a healthy Christian community for children and parents. Additionally, to actively care for the children/parents by ensuring programs operate safely while providing adequate pastoral support.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the daily running of their group.
- To ensure that the rooms and equipment are set up by 10 am and that the rooms are left ready for the next users when the session finishes
- Welcoming mothers/carers and children as they arrive
- Ensuring that everyone feels welcome, respected and included
- Ensuring that a range of suitable activities is available for children to enjoy
- Overseeing general matters of safety, hygiene and social interaction and documenting any incident that causes concern
- Contacting the coordinator or another member of their daily team if they are unavailable to lead on a particular day
- Reminding members when term fees are due and ensuring that money is taken to the Office promptly.
- Ensuring that the sign in sheets are completed
- Distributing relevant information to parents as required
- Operate in consultation with team members to collectively reach the above responsibilities.
Requirements:
- A current Working with Children Check.
- A passion for providing children and parents with opportunities to share in fun and friendship in a Christian community environment
- A commitment to growth in their own faith.
Commitment:
- Weekly, to be confirmed with the Playgroup Coordinator.
