Presbytery Report Oct 2012

Presbytery met in Council at Cornish College on Saturday, 13 Oct 2012.

Devotions were led by the Chair, Rev Ian Ferguson. (BelindaClear read the bible reading.)

We heard reports from

We approved a proposal to encourage annual reporting and reflecting by ministers, deacons, and pastors.

We heard from Mark Lawrence and Hannah Dungan on the UCA Assembly held recently

We had an interesting demonstration of how clothes lines could inform our mission development from John Emmett, Synod Commission for Mission.

We talked in table groups about collegial gatherings and what it might mean for the Presbytery.

Ian Ferguson led us in a simple, yet elegant service of release for Mark Lawrence, who is leaving the Presbytery as Pastoral Care Minister to take up the position of General Secretary of Synod. There were many warm expressions of appreciation from the floor for the work that Mark has done, and the role that he played in Presbytery. Mark symbolized the release of his ties by handing over to Ian a CD of all his duties and documents pertaining to his ministry!
