A letter from the Pastoral team to all group contact persons at GWUC
PASTORAL OUTREACH AT GWUC
Greetings to all Group Leaders,
The Pastoral Team is asking all group leaders/co-ordinators to read the following letter at your next meeting. Thankyou.
In response to information revealed during Carolyn Kittos’ review that we at GWUC are generally feeling a lack of pastoral support, the Pastoral Team is looking at replacing the current Visitation system with the Pastoral Partners Program written by Sharonne Price, a member of the S.A synod.
Her program has had a great deal of success in many churches throughout Australia, and was briefly outlined at the recent workshop for visitors and group representatives. Pastoral. Partners would have a cluster of up to5 families/people to care for. Training and ongoing support is an integral part of the program. There are several copies of the training program in the office if you wish to be better informed.
The Pastoral Team has asked Sharonne to conduct a weekend introducing this program on Aug 2 -4th. The plan is for her to speak with potential Pastoral Partners on the Sat, and to speak at all services on the Sunday to tell us how we could benefit pastorally by committing to this program.
The success of the program is paramount to having a group of people who feel that God is calling them to this role of pastoral Outreach. We are asking all members of the congregation, to prayerfully consider being a pastoral partner if that is where your skills and talents lie, and to commit to attending the weekend workshop to understand fully the program and how it will be implemented.
Yours in Christian fellowship,
The Pastoral Team
