Neil and Alanee looking ahead till Christmas.

We decided to share with you some of the exciting and significant things that we have coming up over the next month. We are excited and we hope you will be too. We also recognize that some of these opportunities will only be possible due to dedicated and willing volunteers.

Along with Di, Alanee and I have been very pleased to welcome Dietrich to the team.

Di’s Report

It was quite an honour to lead worship at 9:15 and 11am on the 29th October. I confess to being very nervous and didn’t get it exactly right but it was a privilege to share in worship with you all. It was great to catch up with so many people from the Church and from the community at the Senior’s Morning Tea for motor neurone, thanks to all the cooks, waitresses and tea and coffee makers.

Have rung and or visited a number of people in hospital or care or in their homes. It is a joy to get to know these people and to listen to their stories. I also catch up with people in the hub or just around and it is good to be able to listen to their stories or concerns. I attended the Fete but unfortunately was not very well so was not the help that I had hoped to be. I hope that I can be more helpful next year. I attended another Dementia Workshop at St John’s Mount Waverley, the discussion was led by Brace Bateman, another good session. Went to High Street Road Church Market which went well.

I have been to a team meeting. I went to GOMERS and walked with the ladies beforehand. I attended the induction of the new minister at Springvale (my home Church) I was delighted to be able welcome Paul to his new ministry. I “attended” a tele conference with the Victorian Lay Preachers Committee of management and we discussed a number of important issues. I was again excited to be able to attend Munch with a Bunch, the food was excellent and the entertainment was wonderful, thanks to Faye and her crew for a lovely afternoon of fellowship.

I was delighted to join in the team meeting to welcome Dietrich and to get to know him better as well as to discuss a number of topics. I also attended the lunch to welcome our visitors from Indonesia. It was good to meet them and to hear about their Church and their many activities. I attended my minister’s support group and I have met with my Spiritual Director.

And on a sad but special note I would ask that we acknowledge the commitment and creativity of Belinda in this role and thank her in writing.

Hello Alanee,
This email is to confirm in writing our discussions of the last few months related to my involvement with the KAT and MICE program for 2018.

For a number of reasons to my family, I have decided that I cannot participate in the program on a regular basis beyond the end of 2017.

I am more than happy to fill in when needed to assist yourself and Kerryn with the running of the program, but can no longer be a regular contributor.

I have loved my time with the KAT and MICE over the last few years. I have enjoyed developing relationships with the children, their parents, with yourself and Kerryn as time has progressed, and have been gratified to see the program growing, which has been an amazing validation of the approach that we have taken.

Thank you for all your support, your willingness to help, to listen, brainstorm and to accept the ideas that we have had. Running a program with such support has been a joy, and I have very much appreciated knowing that you are there to listen, encourage and assist.

Sunday the 17th December will be my final session with the program.

Regards,
Belinda Chung
