How can we be inclusive?

Some comments from a conversation AlisonClarkson had with JanClear re keeping in touch

  1. New people who’ve connected via live streaming during lockdown
    • important to follow up any contacts, if agreed
  2. Sunflower welcoming is continuing for new people who attend worship
    • progress will be monitored
    • also important to follow up, if agreed
  3. Members without internet or ability to connect;
    • members hesitant about attending worship in person;
    • members deemed as isolated.
    • Jan and I will check the rolls again for members in these categories and update the lists from 2020, so that they can be allocated a contact person who can make regular catch up phone calls.
  4. Aged care facilities
    • No visits during lockdowns
    • All have been advised of our online services, with contact details
    • Some are already accessing these services
    • There have been a few issues with communication, where facilities have not been ready for a visit, in spite of a prior phone call; difficulty of contacting activities coordinator; expectation that timing of visit can be changed at short notice; lack of appreciation that leaders have other commitments.
