Sister church partnership with the Evangelical Church in Minahasa Riedel Congregation, Wawalintouan Tondano (GMIM)

I have accepted an invitation from Lucky Kalonta to join him in Manado, North Sulawesi.

We will renew our contact with GMIM (Lucky has been in touch with the Riedel congregation's church council re visit) and attend annual KGPM church anniversary following invitation (via Lucky) from their Moderator, Gbl. Francky Londa. Latter helped set up our Sharing With Minahasa program and has attended our early classes and joined us to evaluate the program. Will also meet with trainee ministers from KGPM with whom we have so far had 10 weekly zoom 'Sharing faith with Minahasa' English classes.

AndrewHosking, Lucky and I are now looking at starting zoom classes with a second group on KGPM ministry trainees, again for about an hour/ week following the model we have devised.

Would be good to discuss ideas regarding GMIM in particular. My understanding from Lucky is that GMIM are sending the new Riedel pendeta (minister) to Melbourne next year after COVID delayed earlier plans. This should tie in with our Indonesia weekend festival. It might be timely to renew our invitation.

We are also maintaining our relationship with Riedel through the Indonesian zoom worship. For example on 18th September, Pdt Dr Sientje Marentek Abram from GMIM Tomohon will preach.

I will draft a reply to the Riedel congregation's letter of August 2nd re their Men's Groups home renovation program and confirm our upcoming visit which has already been welcomed by their church council.

I will leave 18th October and returning 5th November. Lucky will leave earlier and stay longer.
