Proposed Beeac visit

We seek Church Council approval for the following arrangements.

On the weekend of Sat/Sun 13th/14th September, we are proposing a two way broadcast between Beeac and GWUC at 11:00am. Rev Neil Peters will lead the service from Beeac accompanied by Free Spirit who will in the afternoon, go to Colac for a fund raising concert for the Presbytery. This is again really exciting.

In addition, Alanee and Nick Dart have identified at least 4 young men in our congregation (and maybe more between now and then) who have volunteered to go to Beeac on Saturday 13th, and in conjunction with the Beeac church, will spend the afternoon under sheep sheds, filling manure bags for the fete.

The plan for the weekend would unfold along these lines:-

Saturday morning 13th - A car load of young men will travel to Beeac. In addition to Nick Dart, We (Warren and Judith Greenwood) will also travel to Beeac with my Trailer so that we can bring back some of the manure in readiness for the fete. The Beeac team will bring more down on Fete day. We would have lunch (church or farm - Beeac team choice) and in the afternoon, guided by the Beeac team go to farm/s to fill bags. If any of the Beeac youth would like to join us, they would be most welcome.

We will also be doing a test broadcast Saturday afternoon to ensure we are ready for the morning.

Rev Neil and Lyn Peters will travel up at a time that works for them.

A number of Free Spirit members will also travel up Saturday afternoon for convenience - maybe we could get them bagging?.

Saturday evening, we will participate in a BBQ that Beeac will identify where, and we will assist (cook??) for the team who are staying overnight. Jenny & Donald Lang have kindly offered space at their farm on Saturday night folks coming up to fill bags. It will be a BYO sleeping bag arrangement as has happened before. Thank you Jenny and Donald. (Jenny is breakfast OK with you?)

Sunday morning the service is at 11:00am at which time the rest of Free Spirit will have arrived. The bag filling team will participate in worship at St Andrews Beeac led by Neil Peters and supported at GWUC by the ministry team and broadcast team.

Following the service, the Beeac team have usually provided a light lunch:):) for all.

Sunday afternoon, Free Spirit will go to Colac UC for a concert at St Andrews Colac and the bag filling folk can decide if they wish to go there, or head home.

We seek Church Council approval for this event to proceed as shown, so as to provide full protection for the car of folk coming to do the bag fill at Beeac. Alanee and Nick will ensure all parental approval for this off site activity is received before they leave and other forms as required by UCA. Nick will be in charge of that team.

We also seek approval to vary our youth transport policy to allow Nick Dart to transport the team.

Nick has had his P plates for just over 19 moths, and our current policy requires two years.

Both Alanee and I fully support Nick being allowed to do this task.

It looks to be an exciting weekend.

Thank you

Yours in Christ
Warren Greenwood
on behalf of the Broadcast Team.
