Re: Church Council permission sought to register Leisure Time with My Aged Care system

As you may be aware, older residents requiring services or home assistance are now required to apply for assistance through a national online database system, called My Aged Care (www.myagedcare.gov.au).

During 2015, the Monash Interagency Network of aged service providers, of which Leisure Time was a member, urged all service providers to register with the My Aged Care database, as a way of receiving their client referrals. The Network was discontinued in 2016, but following numerous start-up issues, Monash Council has now adopted the new system, and is urging its older residents to make all new service requests through the My Aged Care system.

Leisure Time relies on referrals for gaining information about many potential new guests in our community, and therefore would like to proceed with online registration with the National Health Services Directory part of the My Aged Care database.

On behalf of Leisure Time, Margaret Fraser has made enquiries at Synod (Josh Woolett), and they are happy for us to pursue this registration, although they are not aware of any other congregation based services having done so as yet.

We will need to quote an ABN and the official name for our organisation (Uniting Church Glen Waverley Leisure Time) as well as provide details for a Contact Person. The Leisure Time committee therefore seeks permission from Church Council to initiate the registration process and to hear any comments you may wish to make regarding the process.

As far as we can see, there is no charge for registration. See http:www.myagedcare.gov.au/service-providers We are happy to complete the registration if/when Church Council approval is received.
