May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
- We sent a letter a fortnight ago to all in the congregation. Do you think it adequately expressed where we are going? Please ask a few people if they received it and what they thought of it.
Regarding our second letter to the congregation. (about structures). The draft being written by MarkEaston. Please note his email on 29 April with some proposed text about the structure. Is there anything you would like to add or subtract to this? How about the third page? Can we come to a conclusion about it at this meeting? I think the sooner we get this letter out the better. Time seems to be flying.
- What are the issues we need to address in our third letter to the congregation? ie. Matters you have raised about which we have not yet come to a decision. Are they listed in this Agenda? Item 8 here seems significant right now. It can be our way to help people transitioning out of Church Council to a new mission activity for them to embrace.
How did we go when we talked to a small group we belong to about Community of Love and Spirituality? JohnHurst tried with the Choir. Well done John! Anyone else? Which one or ones can YOU try to insert Community of Love into in the coming months? Would you like Brace to assist you in this effort?
- Education Program for people nominating or being nominated for the new Church Council. Or should it be to a wider group?
- Discernment of spiritual gifts.
- Love and spirituality, as we six have been experiencing in our Steering Committee. Who will lead this a. and b.?
Assertion, aggression as requested by one of our members who wished to be nameless.. With WarrenBartlett leading. What is an appropriate timing for this Seminar? Would you attend?
- Writing the list of the good and innovative activities of GWUC. For the 40 CC people becoming 10 CC. Also for any GWUC people. Who can write this? Perhaps 2 of us doing it. We need a list of perhaps our 30 or 40 groups in GWUC and three or four sentences about each. For our third letter to the congregation.
Without our taking any initiative, a general informative meeting for anyone interested in taking a role in Pastoral Care will be held on the 6th of June at 7:30 pm. Led by JennyVass, JanClear. Those transitioning out of Church Council could find this helpful.
We decided it would be helpful to allocate now every group in our congregation to one of the four Mission Groups. JohnHurst is to give us a lead.
MargaretFraser and BronwynLowe to talk to Ministry Team about their reaching out to the 40 becoming 10. How did that go? BraceBateman wrote to the Ministry Team about a few contacts that have already been made.
- When will the vote be for the 10 new Church Councillors? When will nominations close? Will there be some written info from us or others beforehand? For instance – only one from a family. Also lowering the age range noting that our congregation started brilliantly with young married people. Also people from each of the five Sunday worship services. And people from non-Australian backgrounds. Have we a suggestion to make about this and other criteria to the Church Council?
