  • Combined Service and Christmas Lunch – 3 December - A reminder that this Sunday we will share in a Combined Service at 10am. This will be followed by the Christmas lunch.

  • Christmas Morning Tea at The Hub – 7 December from 10am - Come and enjoy a special Christmas morning tea with family and friends at The Hub. All donations to help needy families in our community.

  • Volunteers Needed to Deliver Postcards for Advent Services – 10 December - Please see the sign-up sheet on the table in the foyer if you can help to deliver Advent Services postcards to houses in the area around the church in the week following Sunday 10 December.   • Empty Christmas Tree – Closing Tuesday 12 December - You are invited to bring along a small (non-returnable) decoration to add to our empty Christmas tree, as well as a gift for under the tree. Gifts will be distributed to some in our community (through Welfare) and also to Broadmeadows. Please do not wrap your gifts. Gifts need to be delivered by Tuesday 12 December as they will be taken for sorting on Wednesday 13 December so they can be distributed before Christmas.

  • BBQ Outreach Forum – Sunday 26 November at 12noon - Jessica Morthorpe, founder and director of Five Leaf Eco-Awards, will speak about her work and vision as we enjoy lunch. Please RSVP on the sheet outside the office. $5 to cover the cost of lunch is payable on the day.

  • Children’s Christmas Photos – Monday 27, Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 November - Come along to The Hub from 10am till 12noon, bring your children or grandchildren, on Monday 27, Tuesday 28 or Wednesday 29 November. Children can dress up in nativity costumes and have their photo taken. Dress ups will be available to use.

  • Remembrance Service – Tuesday 28 November at 8pm - All are welcome to the Remembrance Service to be held on Tuesday 28 November at 8pm. The service includes a time of reflection and remembering loved ones who have passed away. Following the service supper will be served.

  • Cleaning and Lawn Mowing Rosters 2018 - Church cleaning and lawn mowing is done each week by volunteers. Four teams of 2 people each clean a part of the complex each week, taking no more than 2 hours. Please consider if you could give a couple of hours Friday evening / Saturday morning, 4 or 5 times a year in 2018 to help keep our church tidy.   • Material Aid Offering – Today – Sunday 10 September - Today the Material Aid Offering is to support the work of the Glen Waverley Uniting Church Welfare Committee. Donations of breakfast cereals, long life milk, canned fruit, soups, meals, rice, pasta, toothpaste, soap etc gratefully received.

  • Light Lunch – Today – Sunday 10 September - Don’t forget to join us for light lunch after the 11am Service this Sunday.

  • Volunteers Needed to Deliver Fete Leaflets - Please add your name to the list on the office counter if you can help deliver leaflets for our fete. We need about 50 people to letter-box drop 13,000 leaflets during the second week of October. If you delivered leaflets for the fete in 2015, please tick or cross out your name on the list, depending on whether you can assist again this year.

  • Church Council Elections - We are pleased to announce that all 8 candidates have received the overwhelming support of the congregation and so have been declared successful in being elected to Church Council.

  • Intergenerational Night Postponed - Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to postpone our Intergenerational Night. It will probably be held early next year but we will let you know when we have organised another date.

  • Confirmation Group - We are looking for those interested in exploring more about their faith, church, the bible and the ethos of the Uniting Church and the tradition of confirmation to join a confirmation group.
    The group would be looking at a ten week commitment, with opportunities to be mentored, visit other churches, learn, discuss and question in a group setting.

  • Church Council Election Today – Sunday 20 August - Election of Church Council Nominees will take place today, Sunday 20 August. A single purpose congregation meeting is called for today, encompassing all services of worship to enable maximum possible participation by our congregation.

  • Worship with Jools Tonight – Sunday 20 August at 7pm - Jools is back in Australia and we have the pleasure of his input at the 7pm Service on 20 August. Please feel free to come and hear Rev Jools Hamilton share next Sunday.

  • Ministry Team Update - Both Rev Neil Peters and Alanee Hearnshaw will be attending the Uniting Leaders Conference in Adelaide next week from Tuesday 22 August to Friday 25 August.

They are seeking to integrate into our congregation and this would be a great way for us to get to know one another. The night will include dinner, song and dance. Cost for the event is by donation. Profits will be shared between Glen Waverley Uniting Church and supporting rural ministry in Indonesia.

An election of Church Councillors will be held on Sunday August 20 following each worship activity. Donations of blankets, towels, pillow slips, tea towels, pet friendly toys, sealed pet food and polyester filled doonas are welcome.   • Church Bulletins - In response to several concerns expressed by members of the congregation about missing Bulletin emails, a new wiki page ChurchEmailVanishing has been created to assist people in restoring the delivery of their Bulletins.

  • Club 2017 – Sunday 2 July at 12noon - Club 2017 will meet after the 11am Service on Sunday.

  • UCAF – Tuesday 4 July at 10am - Members will meet for morning tea at 10am. This will be followed by our meeting where we wil hear from Hanna Landray from South-east Volunteers. All are welcome to attend.

  • Men’s Fellowship – Tuesday 4 July at 2pm - All are welcome to come and hear our speaker who will be sharing about Melways.
