Dad’s Day Services and Morning Tea – Sunday 3 September - Father’s Day will have a special focus at our 9.15 and 11am services this week, with a special morning tea between these services. All welcome.

Church Council Election Today – Sunday 20 August - Election of Church Council Nominees will take place today, Sunday 20 August. A single purpose congregation meeting is called for today, encompassing all services of worship to enable maximum possible participation by our congregation.
Worship with Jools Tonight – Sunday 20 August at 7pm - Jools is back in Australia and we have the pleasure of his input at the 7pm Service on 20 August. Please feel free to come and hear Rev Jools Hamilton share next Sunday.
Ministry Team Update - Both Rev Neil Peters and Alanee Hearnshaw will be attending the Uniting Leaders Conference in Adelaide next week from Tuesday 22 August to Friday 25 August.

Indonesian Cultural Night – Saturday 12 August - Our Church Community is invited to an Indonesian Cultural Night to be put on by the small Indonesian congregation who have been worshipping in our premises on Sunday afternoons. They are seeking to integrate into our congregation and this would be a great way for us to get to know one another. The night will include dinner, song and dance. Cost for the event is by donation. Profits will be shared between Glen Waverley Uniting Church and supporting rural ministry in Indonesia.

Material Aid Offering for RSPCA – Sunday 9 July - This month’s material aid collection will support the work of the RSPCA. Donations of blankets, towels, pillow slips, tea towels, pet friendly toys, sealed pet food and polyester filled doonas are welcome. 2017 Palm Sunday Walk for Justice – Today – Sunday 9 April at 2pm - The 2017 Palm Sunday Walk for Justice is on today, Sunday 9 April, leaving the State Library (Swanston Street, Melbourne) at 2pm. The Walk highlights concern about the harsh treatment of refugees. A flyer is available on the Stewards Table or the Outreach notice board for further details.
Hot Cross Buns on Good Friday – Friday 14 April - Following the 9.15am service on Good Friday, 14 April, Hot Cross Buns and a cuppa will be available in the hall. Please bring some Hot Cross Buns to share. Everyone welcome.
Way of the Cross – Friday 14 April at 11am - The Way of the Cross will be celebrated at Waverley Central Oval (cnr Waverley and Springvale Roads) at 11am on Good Friday. This is an ecumenical event open to all.
Family Easter Event – Easter Day Sunday 16 April – Volunteers Needed - Easter Sunday afternoon at 3pm we will be holding another Children’s Easter Event here. Daylight Savings - Sunday 2 April at 3am - A reminder to everyone that Daylight Savings officially finishes this Sunday at 3am (ie: 3am becomes 2am). So, unless you want to be extra early to church, please turn your clocks back 1 hour before you go to bed on Saturday night.
2017 Palm Sunday Walk for Justice - Sunday 9 April at 2pm - The 2017 Palm Sunday Walk for Justice is on Sunday 9 April, leaving the State Library (Swanston Street, Melbourne) at 2pm. The Walk highlights concern about the harsh treatment of refugees. A flyer is available on the Stewards Table or the Outreach notice board for further details.
Volunteers Need to Deliver Postcards for Easter Services - We need about 10 people to letterbox-drop Easter Services postcards to houses in areas around the church. This Sunday – Melbourne Singers Pleasant Sunday Afternoon – 26 March at 2.30pm - All are welcome to attend Camberwell Uniting Church (314 Camberwell Road) to hear The Melbourne Singers. Admission is $25 and includes High Tea. Funds raised will support asylum seekers.
Hot Cross Bun Morning Tea – Thusday 30 March - Join us from 10am until 12noon for hot cross buns and tea or coffee. All donations will support The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. Please add your name to the list on the Office Counter if you plan to attend.

Of particular interest among the attached documents is GrowingYoungBookReport, a report on a book that Alanee read during her recent study leave, on how to attract young people to the church, and the things we do that drive them away. Monash Council Car Park Parking Restrictions - From Tuesday 21 February until Friday 10 March, the Council Car Park in Bogong Avenue will have sections closed for painting and maintenance. Please be mindful that this will put additional pressure on our Church car park.
