#acl All:read Link to ChurchRosters == Church Rosters Guide == A quick, minimally technical, guide to GWUC rosters on the wiki. Suggestions for improvement welcome. === Why do we want rosters on the wiki? === * Rosters are of interest to more than the people on them. Publishing them here allows all interested parties to see them. * Rosters change. The wiki provides an easy way to keep the published version up to date. * Rosters on the wiki enable us to send automatic reminders. === How do I record a swap? === * You need to edit the roster page by swapping the names. See HowToUseTheChurchWiki for further help on editing. Click Save Changes when you are finished. * You need to be logged in to edit wiki pages. If you do not have a user name, ask DavidMorgan. * If you use [[http://www.mozilla.org|FireFox]] as your web browser, you can click on Edit(GUI) fro a more graphical user interface. * If not, use Edit(txt). The resulting display is a little more confusing. The symbols "||" signify a new cell in the table. === What if I mess it up? === No problem. The wiki keeps copies of all previous saved versions. <> can return any page to any previous version very easily. === What about automatic allocation? === * Most rosters are allocted manually in batches, by the coordinator. Requests to avoid certain dates need to be directed to them. * Some roster are automatically allocated, week by week. The individual rosters indicate which they are. * These rosters have a Preferences page, which controls the automatic allocation. * This process allows volunteers to avoid being allocated dates when they are unavailable, by adding their name to RosterUnavailable. === How do I join a roster? === * For a manually allocated roster, contact the coordinator or ChurchOffice. * For an automatically allocated roster, your name needs to be on the Preferences page. You can enter it yourself, or ask ChurchOffice, the coordinator, or <> to do it for you.
