Notice sent to the congregation 17 Nov 2020

Hello All,

GWUC - Role of Welfare Coordinator.
We are pleased to confirm Church Council approval to the recruitment of a Welfare Coordinator to join our team. The role will coordinate the delivery and support of a range of services and activities to people requiring assistance and support.

Dorothy Lockhart has over many years undertaken a similar role on a voluntary basis, but Dorothy has recently sold her home in Glen Waverley and will be moving to Mordialloc in early 2021. We wish Dorothy the best and thank her for everything she has contributed.

We have an experienced Welfare Committee and a dedicated group delivering these important services and we are seeking to recruit a professional appropriately skilled person to assume the role of Welfare Coordinator here at GWUC.

The Gwenda Henry bequest "for Community Service" will fund a pilot scheme for the 2021 year, which will operate for 5 hours per week from mid-January 2021.

A Position Description document is available for information providing the detail and requirements of the role. This document is available from Joanne Boldiston at the office via [email protected] and on the Wiki by following the Welfare Coordinator 2020 link from: http://wiki.gwuc.org.au/gwuc/PositionDescriptions

We have chosen to seek interest and applications from within our congregation and from people known to our Congregation, prior to canvassing candidates from the broader market.

Should you wish to discuss the role, please contact Ken Coutts our Convenor, People & Culture on 0412 766 761. Applications should be submitted marked Private & Confidential to Ken at [email protected] by 30th November 2020.

Kind regards,
Glyn Howells
Chair, Church Council
