Third Saturday Walkers - Meeting 1

The initial meeting to discuss the Third Saturday Walkers 2016 walk was held at 43 Wilson Road Glen Waverley on 13 Nov 2016 at 7.30pm.

Attendance and Apologies

Those attending were: HeatherBailey, DavidBailey, JohnSnare, BarbHurst, JohnHurst, IanMcMillan, AnneMcMillan, DavidFraser, MargaretFraser, KenMcGregor, WinnieMcGregor, GeoffWillis, Deidre, BillMcIntosh, DebAmos.

Apologies were from MarjorieSnare, DavidMorgan, SueMorgan, JacquiKing, ColinKing, ValDrescher.

Suggested Walks

The following walks were considered:

  • Tasmania with individual day walks
  • New Zealand South Island – Abel Tasman
  • New Zealand North Island – Coromandel Peninsula with option of walks around Rotorua
  • Cape to Cape Margaret River Western Australia
  • Kosciusko National Park

After discussing the various options it was agreed that the 2016 walk would be the New Zealand North Island Coromandel Peninsula. The option of a couple of days walking around Rotorua will be further considered.

It was agreed that it would not be possible to arrange the trip in the short timeframe for early in the New Year. The timing for the walk will be in October just after the Church Fete. This timeframe suited all in attendance.

The next meeting will be on Monday 11 Jan 2016, 43 Wilson Road at 7.30pm
