Role:

To facilitate activities that encourages children in grade 4 to grade 6 to explore the stories of our faith tradition. To actively care for the children and ensure that Friday night programs operate safely, to facilitate community engagement while providing adequate pastoral support.

Responsibilities:

• Planning a varied program of activities for children in grade 4 to grade 6 on fortnightly Friday evenings during school terms from 5.30pm until 7pm
• Arrive at the GWUC in the afternoon with enough time to set up before the children arrive.
• Ensure all children are signed in and out each session.
• Ensure all activities are safe
• Ensure leadership follows the Safe Church training
• Provide a healthy dinner for the children.
• Ensure the areas are clean and tidy at the end of the session.
• Attend a Safe Church training session each three years, beginning in the first year of volunteering at GWUC.

Requirements:

• A current Working with Children Check.
• A passion for providing children with opportunities to share in fun and friendship in a Christian community environment
• A commitment to growth in their own faith.

Commitment:

• One Sunday a month
