Playgroup Leadership team
Role:
To support the Playgroup program as an essential party of Glen Waverley Uniting Church’s (GWUC) total life and mission.
Responsibilities:
- To be familiar with and supportive of the GWUC vision, particularly its Outreach mission and Safe Church policies.
- To draw inspiration from their Christian faith as motivation for volunteering as part of the Playgroup Leadership Team, but will not seek to “proselytise” or “convert” playgroup members of other faiths. All religious traditions will be respected at Playgroup.
- To ensure all volunteers (Group leaders, Team Members, Treasurer, Morning Tea Ladies, Craft Coordinator and Pastoral Care Coordinator) are supported both pastorally and for their given roles.
- To support the Playgroup Coordinator with identifying resources for Playgroup ministries
- Communicate with the wider Church community about Playgroup events
- Annually assess goals to ensure they are in line with GWUC goals
- To appoint a Chairperson and Secretary to facilitate and record meetings
- Attend a Safe Church training session every three years, beginning in the first year of volunteering at GWUC.
Requirements:
- A current Working with Children Check.
- A commitment and passion for Children and Families ministry
- A commitment to growth in their own faith.
- Excellent organisational, strategic thinking and pastoral skills
Commitment:
- One meeting every quarter
