Playgroup Coordinator

Role:

To facilitate meetings and operations of the Playgroup program as an essential party of Glen Waverley Uniting Church’s (GWUC) total life and mission.

Responsibilities:

• Set agenda and chair Playgroup meetings
• Ensure that the Playgroup leadership team is accountable to its charter/goals and responsibilities
• Ensure the Playgroup Leadership Team annually re-assesses it’s goals through the Ministry Review Process
• To be familiar with and supportive of the GWUC vision, particularly its Outreach mission and Safe Church policies.
• Consulting regularly with all members of the Playgroups Leadership Team, providing operational and pastoral support.
• To regularly visit each group.
• Liaising with and reporting to the Coordinator of the Community Hub and Church Council through the Children and Families Pastor
• Liaising with the GWUC Property Committee and Church Office, as required
• Recruiting, as required, new members of the Leadership Team
• Dealing with matters arising from membership of Playgroups Victoria, the Christian Playgroups Network and Monash Council.

Requirements:

• Excellent facilitation, listening, organisational and operational skills
• A commitment and passion for Children and Families ministry
• Enthusiastic, keen and caring character

• Children & Family experience

• A current Working with Children Check.

Commitment:

• One meeting every quarter
• Weekly programs as required
