How to record on Zoom

  • Open Zoom
  • Click on "New Meeting" or "Start". (The choice depends on whether you are showing Home or Meetings.)
    • You should see video of yourself.
  • Move the cursor over the picture of yourself if needed, to make the Record button appear at the bottom of the window.
  • Click the "Record" button. Select "Record on this computer" if a popup menu appears.
  • Do your thing, whatever you want to record.
  • When finished, click on the "Stop Recording" button, the small black square where the "Record" button used to be.
  • Now you need to find the saved recording.
    • Mine is saved in a folder something like Documents:Zoom:2020-08-31 14.29.38 David Morgan's Zoom Meeting 93330706443

    • You may need to search for ZOOM in the Finder or Desktop Explorer or similar.
    • Sometimes closing the meeting brings up a message about saving it.
  • Open that folder / directory.
  • Open (double click) on double_click_to_convert_01.zoom
  • Zoom will convert he "Meeting" and ask for a place to save it. Choose anywhere that you can find again.
  • If the resulting file is less than 10MB, you can send it as an email attachment.
