Ministry Team Report October 2024
1. Di Patereson
It has been a busy month, with lots of things happening at both Churches. I have been leading worship at all the services for the last month, plus pastoral care and hospital and nursing home visiting at Charman (Black Rock) .
I walk with the GOWERS at Jells Park and catch up with guys at Gomer most weeks. I have done a bit of visiting with a few people in hospital, one in isolation and one about to have major surgery.
Strathdon continues to go well, with good numbers at both services that I do on the 2nd Thursday of the month. It is excellent to be able to spend some time with members from our Church who are in Strathdon.
I attended Inclusive Community and attended and led devotions for UCAF.
It was sad to hear of the passing of Judy Boucher and to see her lovingly farewelled by family and friends in a beautiful service led by Rev Ian.
Attended the MLDC meeting, we are working on creating training material for Lay Leaders.
I led the opening Worship for the Lay Minister’s Training Day at Pilgrim. The training day was excellent and the speakers were most helpful, a good day’s training.
Attended the final Code of Ethics training for the year, it was a good session.
Attended the Induction of the new minister at Toorak, Rev Sylvia Akauola – Tongotongo, a very happy day for Toorak and Sylvia.
I have had Supervision, team meetings and Ministry Support group.
The renovations at Cheltenham are moving slowly and we might be in the new building before Christmas 2025!!
I am continuing to work with Coatesville Church and the profile has been approved by Presbytery, so things are moving along well.
- Pastoral Care.
