Most Sundays there is a new person at one of our services. I took the opportunity to involve a few willing people in worship while Alanee was on leave. Alanee and I have always wanted to do that. Some of our congregation members have been catching Covid, even when they are careful. In July I attended the Presbytery Multicultural Churches seminar at Noble Park. I also participated in the Presbytery Worship seminar with input on Jeremiah on zoom. I conducted the funeral service celebrating the life of Joyce Wallace. Prior to Covid Joyce attended worship at GWUC monthly. I continue to record a monthly reflection and a prayer time twice a month that are on the website. I am planning to take annual leave from 19 September to 29 September inclusive. I will be representing the Presbytery at the annual Selection Conference 21 – 23 October. Neil === Di’s Report === I went to Synod Tribute Service at Wesley to support a newly ordained minister who I have been supporting over the last year or so. Also, to support a member of Cheltenham/Mentone whose wife, a retired minister, passed away last year. I guess the biggest downer for me this month was testing positive for Covid. I spent the mandatory week at home and although initially quite unwell, I improved as the week progressed. I came out of lock down just in time to preside at a funeral at Glen Waverley. I was not able to meet with the family and so I am very grateful to Joanne for the amazing job she did to make everything fall into place. I attended the MLDC meeting and did a Ministry Training Day on ZOOM. I have done some visiting and lots of phone calls. Attended team meetings. I have continued to walk with girls at Jells Park and catch up with the boys at GOMER at the Church. I also walked with the 3 rd Saturday walkers from Mentone to Ricketts Point, it was a cold day but a great walk. I also catch up with people around the Church when I am there. I visited a lady at Cumberland View whose daughter contacted the Church and asked if it was possible for someone from the ministry team to visit. The visit went well and I will go again, when I can. I also met with the Anglican Minister from Black Rock and we hope to plan some joint activities in the future. I have had supervision. DiPaterson<
