Minutes of Annual General Meeting held at the Church on Monday 13 April 2015

Margaret Fraser welcomed everyone and thanked Rev Neil Peters, Geraldine Fleming Community Hub Mission Group Convenor, Judith Greenwood leader of The Hub and our speakers Rebecca Sieber and Joyce from UnitingCare Life Assist.

There were 24 present, with 4 apologies

Devotions

Alison Clarkson led us in a reading from John 15: 1-5 from this month’s Network. Then a piece called “I am the Real Vine” and ended with a prayer.

Margaret Fraser commenced by showing a few photos of the Leisure Time guests before commented on various items in her report. Margaret made special reference to the passing of John De Ravin and Yvonne McCamley. Margaret also thanked all the volunteers for their continued support of Leisure Time. Audited Financial Statement for 2014

• Was presented and circulated by Cliff Baker.

Cliff informed everyone that application had been made for the 2015-2016 grant to Monash Council but that we wouldn’t know the outcome until later in the year.

• Cliff moved the Statement be accepted; 2nd Pat Vevers Carried.

Reappointment of Honorary Auditor

Evelyn Fleming has agreed to continue as Auditor.

Guest Speaker

Margaret introduced the guest speakers Rebecca and Joyce from UnitingCare Life Assist who spoke on the work of the wider UCA.

Election of 2015 Committee of Management

Margaret acknowledged and thanked:

• retiring committee members Bev Richardson and Jenny Robertson.

• those still serving on the committee are: Laurel Muir, Alison Hawkins, Alison Clarkson, Jeanette Coutts, Cliff Baker, Pam McDonald and Elwyn Pederson. Elwyn Pederson is the Church Council rep on the CHMG.

Cliff Baker took the chair and asked for nominations for committee from all those present.
Nominated Pat & Ross Vevers & Barbara Thompson for a 3 year term and Margaret Fraser 1 – 2 year term.
These were elected by a show of hands.

Interim Arrangements to cover vacant Coordinator position

These interim arrangements are to be reviewed in October.

Margaret acknowledged and thanked the committee members still serving terms – Laurel Muir, Alison Hawkins, Alison Clarkson, Jeanette Coutts, Cliff Baker, Pam McDonald, Elwyn Pederson who is the Church Council rep on the CHMG.

Margaret & Cliff exchanged CDs and folders for relevant new positions.

Cliff thanked Margaret for her leadership over 6 years and a job well done. Flowers were presented to Margaret.

Margaret Fraser closed the business meeting at 3.45PM.

Rev Neil Peters congratulated Leisure Time on a team effort and good year.
Rev Neil Peters announced the sad passing of Mona Macklin and that her Thanksgiving Service was at 1 pm Friday 17th April, 2015.

The benediction was led by Rev Neil Peters.

Afternoon tea was held after the meeting.
