== Leisure Time plans for 2022 ==
Dear All
Moving Forward Together
After a difficult two years I write on behalf of the committee to inform you how Leisure Time will change its program next year. I do hope you will still consider volunteering after reading about our changes!
As [[attachment:Leisure Time letter 25 October 2021.pdf|the letter]] explains we shall be moving to meeting only once a month for a delicious afternoon tea (more like a high tea). The committee recognizes that as our volunteers age and reduce in number, we can not continue to offer the Leisure Time program to our current guests. It is hoped with this change we will be able to put our energies into not only guests, but also to offer a transport service for members of the congregation who would love a chance to get together.
With this in mind, the administration of the program will be similar in that we will need:
Drivers (who will have the opportunity to stay with a guest of their choice)
Hosts (who are also invited to nominate and bring a guest of their choice)
Refreshment donations (of sandwiches/cakes/slice/little savouries, guest suggestions are most welcome)
Kitchen helpers (to set tables, put out the afternoon tea, make teas/coffee, clean up and also to nominate and bring a guest)
The committee hope this will be a fun filled time of fellowship with friends once a month
I shall send out volunteer registration forms shortly. A point of safety is that all attendees, whether guest or volunteer, will have had their two Covid 19 vaccination. Volunteers who come into contact with our guests who are from within or without our congregation will have had to have the necessary police checks that are up to date. We will help you and cover any costs for the safety check.
As we see the close of 2021 our guests will be meeting off site in cafes as the Church is unable to offer its facilitates for Leisure Time. So, the committee offers great thanks to our drivers – for without you, many of our guests would remain isolated at home.
So until 2022<
>
Blessings
