Alison and Jan have written letters to those who attended PP workshops or have been recommended by the Ministry Team. They have been posted and we have asked for returns by 22 June. We will work on the initial clusters before Alison leaves.
Heather has been typing letters to Cluster Leaders and posting them as she does them. They should all be posted by the end of the week. Cluster leaders have a maximum of five people( individuals, family group, couples.) to contact. The letters ask the leaders to contact the people on their list ASAP and inform them that they are Pastoral Partners. I met with David Morgan and we have worked out how we’ll put this information on the Database.

As we have quite a few people in villages now, we have decided to appoint Cluster leaders for the villages. I am in the process of making these appointments. We thought that this was sensible as the village people meet up with one another frequently.

We have eighteen people who have volunteered to be cluster leaders (including the ones for the villages.) I have placed ninety people in Clusters so I am really pleased about that.

We are keeping Group Pastoral contact people for the present time. There are many people who have opted for Pastoral Care through groups so we know that they are OK. We are also contacting group carers to make sure that they are still happy to do this job.

     HOW WE NEED HELP.

I need more volunteers. Council members may not feel that they can commit themselves but could encourage family members and/or friends to become involved. We need to impress upon people that this is not visiting. It is keeping in contact and ringing people if they are not seen for a while and they may need help. Cluster groups will not be advertised. Ministry team, database users (a group of about 4 people) and Alison Clarkson and me are the only ones who have access to the information. We are aware that there may be personality clashes and will review clusters about every six months and more frequently, If necessary.

I can’t put any more people in clusters until I have more volunteers so if Council members can encourage people to volunteer that would be great.
