= Council Minutes Dec 2023 =

 * Council and spouses shared dinner at the Morgan house.
 * Council approved the statement to the congregation about the appeal results
  * '''Three quarters of the way.'''<<BR>>In September, the congregation meeting agreed to seek two full time ministerial staff, knowing that an increase in giving was needed to fund that.  In October an appeal was launched, seeking an extra $30,000 annually in giving.  Our giving recorder has reported that increases in envelope giving advised to him, plus the increase in electronic bank transfers for November over September, indicated increased giving of $22,500 per year.  This is a somewhat conservative estimate, and represents three quarters of our target.<<BR>>Church Council would like to thank all those who have contributed to this pleasing result, and shown confidence in our future.  For those who have not yet done so, it is not too late to help meet our target.
 * Neil thanked the Council on behalf of the ministry team, and especially the retiring members, DavidFraser and GlynHowells.
 * Discussion followed about the work of the JNC, and about the number of worship services.  Reference was made to ServicesSurvey2015.
