Congregation commitment
In December 2016 the congregation meeting (CongMeetingMinutes20161213) approved the proposal that: That the Congregation reject the Church Council’s proposed Code of Conduct for Members, and ask the Church Council to lead a process to develop a new way of describing how we aspire to treat each other.
That Code of Conduct, adopted by Council but rejected by the congregation, forms the basis of our current Safe Church posters. Inspired by looking at church statements in the UK, we have come up with the following proposed new poster.
Proposal
This meeting of the congregation agrees that it is committed to the Glen Waverley Uniting Church being a Safe Church under the Uniting Church's Safe Church policy and agrees to adopt the summary of it described in the SafeChurchPoster2018.
