Obsolete instructions at CheckInRewardle and CheckInOthersVicGov. * For COVID safety, greeters should do the data entry. == iPad instructions and process for watching delayed video == Notes added Sep 2019 * The iPads still exist and are in use * No one currently uses them for watching worship, but they are still set up to enable that to occur, so they are still correct instructions for delayed streaming * They are extensively used for HUB === What is on the iPad: === * The iPads are set up to primarily support the extended ministry by allowing users to watch a service of worship; * However, they automatically log into the GWUC network, so within the property, users can also use them to go to the internet, the GWUC homepage or log into the wiki. * User will get about 8 to 10 hours use without them being recharged. * Recharging takes about 2 hours. === Preparing the iPads for watching worship - Office task: === * Each week the worship services (9:15 & 11) are uploaded to the church Web site (www.gwuc.org.au). * On a Monday morning, someone (office or passer by) needs to turn the iPads on and go the the "Podcast" app - purple - and you will see a list of services that have been downloaded and the list shows those services waiting to download - there is an arrow pointing down on the right of the screen against the service name. * Touch the down arrow on each service you wish to download, and it will be installed on that iPad. * This needs to be done for EACH iPad. * This download on to the iPad can ONLY BE DONE while the iPad is logged into the GWUC network. (The service cannot be downloaded to the iPads at a users home unless the user connects the iPad to their home network). * The download is about 700MB for each service and so will take around 40 minutes for each service. (This is because the service is uploading from the GWUC network at a much slower speed than the download speed - in the future we will find a way to directly load the services to the iPads much quicker) * When the download is completed the user will see a rondel beside the loaded service. Any service listed can be watched when it is downloaded. * At some time in the future the past services will need to be deleted to make room for more recent services. The iPads will hold about 20 services. * The iPads stay on but asleep when plugged in at the church. === Watching the worship on the iPads - user: === * When sharing the iPad with a user, if they are likely to watch more than on service, give them the charger and cord. If they will only watch one service, the power cord is not needed. * Open the case. * If the iPad does not start immediately, push the HOME button at the middle bottom of the iPad. If nothing happens, hold the "On" button on the top left edge of the iPad for 3 seconds and let it start up. * On the screen touch the purple app called Podcasts. * Touch the service you wish to watch. * When the service commences, touch the middle of the screen and the volume can be adjusted by sliding the bar at the foot of the picture. Alternatively, the volume can be adjusted by the rocker switch on the top left edge of the iPad. * Radio headphones can be plugged into the iPad for those of limited hearing (not provided). * When the service is finished, press the "Home" button again to close the Podcast app. * Close the lid and the iPad will turn off. REMINDER: To re-load the iPad with another service the iPad needs to be returned to the office for the steps above.<
> Only trained person can connect the iPad to home networks and download more services.<
> This means it needs to come back to the office each week to be replaced and recharged.<
> === Other uses: === * If people wish to make the iPads available for use on the property to look at wiki/web or other purpose, this is NOT a supported function and people will need to asked skilled persons to assist if they do not know what to do. * They can be used for Music, Audio books, presentations and movies. * To download other Apps, a personal iTunes account will be required as the iPads are currently owned by GWUC and there is NO credit card attached you can use. Lots of love Warren June 2013
